How to Prepare Fire Reports for the Different Agencies

  1. They are several Agencies that would request for fire reports for various reasons some of the key agencies that would frequently request fire reports are: Guyana Police force, Insurances, Lawyers, Utility company (GPL) etc. Private companies (eg. If the fire occurred at Courts, they can request the report).

  2. These companies would send a letter to the Chief Fire Officer requesting the fire report; however, the letter would state the date, address and name of the owner (s). Please note also that a fee of one hundred dollars should be attached except for police or any other government utility agencies.

  3. When these letters reach the General Office, we would check to ensure that we have the information in our records which includes the Fire Report. We would then proceed to process the report and send off same along with a receipt and a memo address to the agency that would have required the fire report.

  4. Please note we only gave the fire report and pros report to Police upon request, and the other agencies would get the Fire report only.

  5. Also be informed if the owner wants a fire report, he or she need to go through a lawyer we do not gave individuals just like that some form of legal frame work has to request it.

  6. We try to respond to these requests in a timely manner so that these agencies can received them promptly. We also ensure that these reports are properly prepare where adequate information are stated, checked and sign by a senior officer and stamped with the Guyana Fire Service stamp before distribution.
