The Guyana Fire Service received a call at 9:47 hrs today and was alerted to a fire at Lot 389 Corlita Street, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Water tenders #76, #105 and #107 from the Central and West Ruimveldt Fire Stations immediately responded to the scene where firefighters found a one flat wooden and concrete building on fire.
The building was owned by the late Sherry Daniels and occupied by twenty-two year old Shamar Daniels and twenty-five year old Alpha Daniels.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was maliciously set by thirty year old Viron Cameron.
As a result of the fire the house and its contents were destroyed leaving two persons homeless.
One line working from WT#107 tank supply in conjunction with a hydrant and one line working from WT#105 tank supply were used to extinguish the fire.
