The Guyana Fire and Rescue Service responds to more than just fire emergencies.
Our mandate covers responding to vehicular accidents, calls of distress, transporting the sick to hospitals and administering first aid care, rescuing animals and rendering assistance to the public.

Citizens are encouraged to seek out the assistance of the GFS at all times, whether it be a fire emergency, vehicular accident, need for our ambulance service, a stuck animal, the washing of parapets and replenishing water to those in need.
Requests can be made with the fire department to have inspections done and for the facilitation of lectures and/or training within various businesses, organizations and schools.
We are here to serve our citizens with confidence and ensure the country remains safe and free from fire tragedies and other related emergencies.
